Computer input and output devices have undergone remarkable development since their existence. This chapter covers the different types of computer input and output devices.

The primary function of input devices is 'getting' data and instruction into the computer. Popular input devices are keyboard, mouse, scanner, microphone and webcam. An Output device is any hardware component that can convey information to a user. Common output devices are monitors, printers and sound speakers

  • Numerous studies over the years have shown that interactive multimedia learning takes less time, is enjoyed more and increases learning. In a review of numerous meta-analysis studies Najjar (1996:30) found that "learning was higher when information was presented via computer-based multimedia systems than traditional classroom lectures".

  • I think that is video is so interesting. Everything is very well explained. It is clearly explained. I prefer this video to the book where there are so many pages to explain and to describe the different input and output devices. But frankly speaking this video is a little bit dull.

  • The video explains well the topic with appropriate diagrams and clear definitions. It provides well summarised details and a good contrast between the peripherals. However, the video is somehow dull as it lacks animation.

  • This is a very good video, it clearly shows the difference between an output device and an input device. Also, it is very good for novices as they will know clearly the functions of the different peripherals shown in the video.

  • Different types of input and output devices have been illustrated in this video. More emphasis have been laid on its functions and benefits. A lot of detailing has also been provided regarding devices like the light pen, touch pad and others.

  • This video tells us about the function of input and output devices and the different input and output devices which exist. It explains the functions of the devices and how they work in the computer system.

This video helps the novice users to know about the input and output devices so as they become familiar to them to be able to use them.

  • It’s far better to watch this video than having to read them on pdf. It’s also a summary of the chapters removing the painful experience of reading so many pages to understand this chapter since the video points out the most important things that we need to know. The points are easy to retain and they contain only the keywords.

  • This video clearly shows the different input and output peripherals. In such a short video it has fully explained the whole this chapter: input and output devices along with their merits, demerits and functions. Through this video, the Vcilt helps people increase their knowledge about these computer devices and really helps people who have just begun using input and output devices.

  • This video shows the different input and output devices. It clearly shows the functions, advantages and disadvantages of using these peripheral. More explanation on touchscreens, light pen and touch pad are also being given here.

  • optomechanical mouse! I didnt know that type of mouse! yeah interesting , it is more easy to capture these info while learning.it gives details for each device!
