You don't understand the UN... It is a forum where governments come together in order to negotiate to come to solutions for armed crises. Whatever the UN's shortcomings, the national governments are constantly failing to act responsibly. National interests prevail. You can't blame the UN for failing to act, the governments of the US, Russia, China and all EU states are in the positiion to make decisions, not the UN as a organisation.

@TheJons40 The UN hates the UN. The idea of Peace keeping not through strength of arms is counter productive. It isn't the UN Soldiers fault. They have their hands tied worse then any other soldier.

I would never serve in the UN. I care about what is going on in Africa as much as the next guy, but to be forced to watch it take place in front of me would be hell.

@0311SECFOR that had the U.S. continued full scale stratigraphic bombing of the North for 3 more weeks he would have no choice but to surrender, only White house interference stopped that. So think about that the next time France or whatever pathetic country you're from is in trouble. And have you ever heard the phrase no one will remember the tactics the body count or the weapons, they'll only remember who won and who lost. We never lost a major military engagement. We never lost a war with the exception of Vietnam but we lost that politically the U.S. Military had it been able to conduct operation the way they wanted would have won the war in a few weeks.
