soooo, was he saying that this skin was simply placed in the river for an extended time to open the folicles? Or was this treated with ash or sodium sulfide or slaked lime or etc? It seems like the skin has turned that yellowish color that comes from raising and lowering the pH. Also, watching you pull the hair out like that is usually difficult unless it's been chemically altered like said processes. So do I not have to use the pH method to remove hair instead of shaving?

This skin, as far as I know, has been only washed out in water. The skins come covered in salt and the only thing you gotta do is wash this salt out and you are ready the plug the hair... I usually soak my skins about an hour before start plugging them. You don't have to use chemicals at all.

Glad you like it! I've just put a deer skin on ma own drum. Should've filmed it... but that's how it goes when you do things on your own ;o) It's not hard to do if you know what you doin :o)
