These images of samuel saint thomas' oils art palette were shot with an old digital camera, whose lens I modified with a piece of pie plate and electrical tape. I learned how to make pinhole photographs during a week-long session with Marian Roth at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown. Marian is an excellent teacher who encourages her students to experiment. We made our own cameras and learned how to modify 35mm cameras. We even created a camera obscura from the baffle which allowed 12 students to access a darkroom whenever they chose. What I love about pinhole photography is the "blind" act of taking a picture. Many photographers enjoy the exacting aspects of the medium. Pinhole technique brings photography closer to art than science. --s.l. bauer

Just found your year old video after doing a search on pinhole cameras. I like your outlook on pinhole photography and how you see it more as approaching art. Very interesting results posted on your video.
