Sifu taught me how to do a Chin Na technique that shows up in Yang Style Taiji and also Duen Da Quan, and I asked him to get out of it. Then he showed an awesome reversal that can turn into an easy two person drill. Thanks to Alecia for recording these! Our school is in Brick, NJ and the websites are chinahandkungfuacademy.com and chinahand.com
I don't agree with this escape and reversal. Controlling the opponent not to perform this escape by simply shifting the focus to the side is too easy. I would argue that the best reversal is to simply turn to the right and pull the attacked hand slightly to the side so the attack cannot be made. Then apply the reversal - clockwise circle wrap to counter a clockwise circle wrap.

@nlmantis you're completely right, but like many martial arts techniques, there's more than one way to do something. a week later he showed me another escape to this movement that i liked more (it was easier and quicker), but i didn't have a chance to film it. it's always good to know more than one way to do something anyways!

Hmmm, interesting. That is TaiJiQuan TuiShou, I think. Nice, but the Old Eight Trigram Palm Switch (the actaul switch, where you swing back and position your arms through a circular motion into the traditional BaGua stance) works fine for me! ^_^ Still, great work, guys! I, for one, couldn't learn that many styles.
