  • provitamin >I got this link from DS. It is nice to see that Space 1999 so many years ago still, influences and inspires people out there to carry the flag of respect and recognition for the show. This is now a classic masterpiece that could realistically be our Space 2099 of the Future ! > It is obvious to me it should be a ( New Release Movie with a few "careful updates " )

    >>>The question is, which Producer would be best suited to pull it off Cheers !<<<<

  • @djscotty1111 -Hi Djscotty1111 , thanks , it's great to see so many creative talents out there. I must admit to being a 1999 fanatic, it was just something about that first season, it was so damned special and so under rated by some. A true classic. My work is really to add to that sense of awe and wonder of season one whilst answering some continuity questions.

Yes I agree Space:1999 could be Space:2099 bringing a whole new generation of fans.

  • @provitamin Yes DS gave me your link ! YES >Space 2099 Ok we have 2 skilled editors 1 model maker and electronic tech we need the rest of the crew and the $ Producer ! :)) Actors >1st pick I feel Patrick / Star Trek would be great as Victor/ Barry Morse. Characters have to believable as in the original Star Wars , some not as believable in the second ;)

  • @djscotty1111 yes a movie would be probably best place and I agree the timing seems right. I would wanna keep the basic design concept of the show on the same grand scale. Somehow that grand nature of season one was totally lost with the small set design not to menation poor scipting/acting. Would wanna update alpha ofcourse but not in that usual big film production when everything changes.

Eagles would stay in there original glory and comlocks/stunguns with maybe a slight tweak!

  • @djscotty1111 Well on the music front, I am a skilled musican, so there we go new scores for Space:2099 - maybe something old mixed with something new, cinematic style ofcourse.

Patrick Stewart would very well make a fantastic Bergman and yes I agree the origianal Star Wars characters was so believable beacuse they were great character actors.

So talented people with a love of the show could make a Space:2099 project something really special.

  • @djscotty1111 - A movie? A new TV series? A re-working of the old? That debate will carry on for a while. But whoever produces would have to be a fan and not a hollywood big guy. And it really is a testement that Space:1999 has so many great creative talented people out there, DS a big fan and it shows in his work.

  • I am a Fan since i was a Kid i would love to see anything related to it

    Congrats and stay strong

  • This is great! Keep it coming!!

  • @provitamin I feel a movie would be best ...(1st) similar to the original launch. I believe the timing is right especially with Battlestar, 2012 etc .

I was a small kid watching Space 1999 and always looked @ the possibilities of the technology coming to fruition I was a also a a Star Trek fan but when I saw

Space 1999, I said, "this is the real future"

The show influenced me to get into electronics. Later on in life I would notice certain electronic devices that would be similar to the show.

  • Hah, excellent; kinda fills the hole between season 1 and 2 and explains perhaps another reason why the Command Center went underground for season 2.
