BaBy Bearded Dragon Arm Wave

Arm Wave done by my new male Dragon (6wks old)Iggy. Also, beardie gaping to regulate his body temp. Really cool to look at his teeth. I have a female dragon (11 wks) Cali, in another tank nearby. He keeps doing it all the time its so cute. Arm Wave is done to show less dominance. Kinda like waiving the white flag saying "Dont hurt me I surrender" or "Im smaller dont hurt me, no threat here". Baby/Juvie males are known to arm wave. Adult males tend not to arm wave but still do on occasion if a much larger dominate male is around. My female bobs and arm waves whens she sees the male. She gets so confused. I need to post a vid of that.

Aight man...listen....he's arm waving cuz he sees his reflection in the parallel glass...thinks it's another Dragon...Arm waving means hey...I know your ass is bigger..plz don't eat or fuck with me....submissive. Open mouth...not bad...just like a dog panting...its called venting...don't listen to anyone else....if they were too hot they would go to the cooler side.

@cacsoccer101 No, it's called gaping.. You do not need to turn down the heat, or spray them. It's like a dog panting. It's how bearded dragons regulate their body temperature.

if there mouth is open like that it means there overheated and need to turn down the heat and spray them with a water

mine doesnt wave, head bob or gape, it doesnt do anything! all it does it wink at me
