The USA overall is just fuct-up. Rather spend money on things that kill people, than help people.

Absolutely. School did nothing for me. I have no skills. I was on Ritalin as a child--whatever skills I may have developed then, I never did because whenever the medicine was active, I had no drive to do anything but what people told me to do. No drive whatsoever--I didn't even have an appetite.
My niece is on Ritalin now. I hate it, I absolutely hate it. I want to shake her mother and ask her what the hell she thinks she's doing to that beautifully creative mind. She's an artist, that child...

i don't get the outrage of kids being on adhd meds having anything to do with the public school system's oppressive nature & lack of proper education. it's a personal responsibility of the parents to make this decision, and yes it is a product of the school system that these medications are advised but we should know better than to blindly feed our kids mind changing drugs. what pisses me off more is vaccines being enforced in schools, where noncomplying students are charged with truancy

Im in 8th grade, if we not go to school except Saturday and sunday our teachers go home to us to get us to go to school and if we not do what they say, they gonna say it to the police, SCHOOLS ARE PRISONS

There is nothing more toxic and detrimental to children then to force feed them an ancient jesus myth, death cult spun into fact and truth. If you do not like this fact then check out the statistics of societies that have removed the religious mind shackles. You will see there is a positive correlation on every level.

I find that teachers treat children like vermin need to be eradicated, infesting the school. In Canada school was mostly a wast of time. When I was 15 I dropped out, got a job, saved up and in 2 years I went back to a private school. I finished 4 grades of high school in 2 years with a 92% average. The best thing parents can do for their kids is home school them. I have friends that joined several families together and formed a group home school system. It really works, the parents make it work.

I have an answer to that guy's question at the end. The fascists of USA and the world are training & making ready the children (next generation) to the way of life they will live in; it will no longer be democracy or any cracy. it will be a terrorist fascist psychopaths ruling nation and world.

if you cooperate with a fascist terrorist satanic nation as USA, then you are crazy and do deserve drugs. most Americans are crazy & ignorant. Media & government are criminals & they cause all the crimes & problems of society.

ADHD-ers often have the most brilliant minds.
See the movie "Temple Grandin".
True story about the woman who revolutionized the US cattle industry.

I was on Ritalin when I was young, and I still wasn't getting the best grades (Cs, mostly). My "doctor" suggested an experimental drug called Aderol to see if it would "help" me. That was the single most horrible month of my life. I had to take 2 pills a day, which made me obedient, but paranoid and scared when there's nothing to do. Luckily, my dad saw the bad effects and eased me off the drugs.
I'm with you on the prison atmosphere and oppression stuff, to a degree. Less with you on the meds. I would agree they're over-prescribed, but ADHD is a real psychological disorder. You/the movie sound like those guys who say, "Depression? You're taking meds because you're sad?" But perhaps treatment should be rethought, and more focus placed on determining the needs of individual children instead of automatically prescribing stimulants (good doctors do this now).

I think ADHD is real, but the numbers are probably tiny. The movie points out that in all of France, there are only about 4,000 kids on Ritalin, compared to 4 million in the US. I also think a tiny number of people are depressed due to chemical imbalances, but anti-depressants are also way overprescribed and only deal with the symptoms, not the root causes, of most people's depression.
