Wilmington Visit:
We took a tour of Screen Gems Studio. You werent allowed to take any pictures/videos. I really wish they would let you. We got split into groups, it was so cool to see what it was like behind the scenes. First off, my group went to see Naleys house. We werent allowed to touch anything because it would mess it up when they film. But I did sneak in some touchings. Haha. I touched the kitchen counter. Some people might think its stupid but you dont know how obsessed I am with One Tree Hill. I could NOT believe that I was actually in Nathan and Haleys house! We just saw the first floor of it, since the steps arent really real. Im not sure where Jamies room is, we didnt get to see that. We saw the kitchen, living room, and dining room. There was a picture of Jamie and Chester on the fridge. While the tour guide lady was talking to us, I stood right where the trashcan is in the kitchen. Where Jamie found the card he made for Dan. She was telling us how there isnt any plumbing so when Haley or Nathan used the faucet they had to hook up a hose and under the sink was a bucket to catch the water. She said the counters are just painted wood. Then we headed to Peytons recording studio. I touched her chair, desk, and pole table leg. The pole table was covered with a sheet so thats why I touched the leg. Then we visited the school which for me was my favorite part. We got to see Lucas office (Whiteys old one) only through the window in the hallway. We went into the locker room and saw Qs locker. Also the showers and everything else. Then came Haleys classroom. The tour guide mentioned that this was the only classroom they have on set so every classroom scene in all seasons were in this one. They would just rearrange it. The one wall lifts up so the crew can stand there to film. The books are all fake that are on the shelves. I sat in the fourth desk back in the first row, closest to the door. We walked through the hallway. We walked through the door in the hallway where Jimmy accidentally shot Peytons leg when her and Brooke were walking through it. Then we went to Brooke/Peytons house. I touched the couch and railing on the steps. The dry erase marker drawing was on Brookes mirror (after she got beat up and robbed). Hopefully you know what im taking about. That episode wasnt aired yet so I was confused on what it was. There was a picture of Angie on her fridge. We went into Peytons bedroom, Brookes bedroom, and the bathroom. We all stopped in the kitchen as the lady spoke to us once again. She opened the fridge showing us all the fake food inside. There was a Sunkist, she said that one tree hill is sponsored by Sunkist so Sunkist asked them to mention it for publicity. But if you remember way early in the show, like at tric, there was a lot of Sunkist stuff. So one day Sunkist called them and told them to lay off a little. So now they just show a can of Sunkist every so often. We went into the screening room where the producers watch the episodes to see if they are good and have no mistakes. That was the whole tour on the set. Now onto the outside locations. This visit we didnt take a lot of pictures of us in front of the places, we didnt think we were allowed since a lot are private places. We saw Keiths Auto Shop. We tried to find Nathan and Haleys apartment but we didnt have the exact address of the particular one. It started pouring rain as we went to Lucas/Karens house and Peytons house. There is a cemetery right by Peytons house which is probably the one they use. Then we went to One tree hill high school, the outside location. Favorite set outdoors. Everything was set up. Oh and we saw Quentins memorial rock, we took a look at everything around it. So we knew he was gonna die before the episode aired. We were freaking out. Then came Clothes over Bros. We looked through the windows to see the inside. But the door was covered with a thing that said Karens Café. (Its in video) Then we went to the river walk where Jake and Peyton had a date. We saw the table where Nathan gave Haley the famous bracelet. Saw the steps where after Peyton gets drugged at a party Brooke takes her outside to these steps where Lucas meets her. We passed the intersection where Keith and Lucas got in a car accident. Came upon Tric. We saw the outsides of Brooke and feliz/annas houses. Then River court time. Peytons drawing of the comet was still on it. We stole a rock and some grass from the river court ;). Last location was the mall, where Nicki took Lucas on the carousel. We were trying to find the pretzel shop that Nathan worked at, supposedly it was filmed there too. We found one but wasnt sure if it was it. And that was all for 2008.
