The TaxPayers' Alliance (TPA) is calling for the British Government to oppose any further World Bank loans, underwritten by British taxpayers, to Argentina. We have launched a new campaign with an e-petition on the UK Government's official website (http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petit...) and published new research (http://www.taxpayersalliance.com/arge...) looking at the scale of the funding.

British taxpayers' money is supporting loans to Argentina on a substantial scale. This is despite recent attacks from the Argentinian government on British interests, including advocating a boycott of British goods, and disputing the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands. Moreover as a middle-income country, Argentina has no pressing humanitarian need for aid.

Argentina is comparable to those on benefits who refuse to work. All about belief that they're entitled to something, demand they get it and then expect hand outs.

On top of needing to pay back all the loans and money stolen from the world bank along with damages to Spain for theft of an entire oil firm, Argentina still owes the UK the cost of 2 Type 42 Destroyers which they bought from the UK and to date never paid for.

Seeing as these ships were never paid for they are still legal property of the United Kingdom so I think our country would like them both back or seeing as that's pretty much impossible now, the UK should be paid the value of both ships.

There is no way, politically, the US Congress could sanction any more World Bank funding for Argentina having just had the Farah report put before them.

The Nestor/Cristina Kirchner regime has been a disaster for Argentina.

This is the sort of mafia government you advocate the Falklanders should have to endure!!!!

Who will your next President be?

    That fat scumbag Maximo?

    1. Correct....your courts are shit....and, through "democratization", about to get alot worse (against the advice of the UN incidentally).

    2. Correct....nobody would buy Argentine bonds if they were under the jurisdiction of Argentine courts.

    3. Correct again.....your economy is small....and about to get alot smaller due to the various policies of the Nestor/Cristina Kirchner regime.

    1.our courts are shit

2.nobody would buy bonds (deficit money) if they were connected to argentine justice, so propense of being violently controlled or manipulated or intimidated by the temporary power

3.argentina is not the uk, we're in the peryphery of economics, we are the expendables, so world powers would mostlikely ditch us economically and protect you than otherwise.

No, it doesnt, and you have shown me you didnt even bother to test what you say. The English article is totally different from the Spanish one, as well as the French, Thai, Egiptian or Burundian. And not because of completion.

Likewise the report states that the growing authoritarianism of Cristina Fernandez and her growing disdain for the rule of law both nationally and internationally puts Argentina on the path to international default and isolation from its most democratic traditional partners, including the US, Brazil, Chile and Colombia.

Having received the Farah report this week the US Congress will use it's veto for any future funds from the World Bank going to Argentina.

...Latinamerica. Unemployment is climbing, the flight of capital is accelerating, official corruption is very much extended, the dollar clamp has eroded business opportunities and dozens of international corporations have been forced to abandon Argentina.

“The government of Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner is facing multiple political and economic crises and has further strengthened her alliances with the US and the region’s democracy major antagonists: Venezuela and Iran”.

drugs traffic; the shady relations with business people friends of the Kirchner family and power or crony capitalism with special reference to the energy sector, plus attacks on freedom of expression and freedom of the press such as stigmatizing the media and journalists, the use of official publicity and intervening in the newsprint market.
