I have loved this song for several decades-- since first heard it on the B-side of "Wreck." That was in 1976, I think. I can't find a youtube video of it by the artist to convert to an .mp3 file. Bummer, that. You do an excellent job of covering it. You sound like Gordon himself doing a test recording of it in his own garage. I envy people with talent. I have none...

Love this -- you are amazing! Lightfoot is one of my absolute favorites, and you more than do him justice. Thank you so much for sharing your videos.

Brian, I think Gord once said that this was his mom's favorite song of his... well, I could never pick a "favorite", but I will tell you that this song has such an important message to convey that I have a sign in my law office that says "The house that you live in will never fall down, if you pity the stranger that stands at your door..." That says so much about being an empathetic human being I think; a concept that is so often unfortunately lost to so many of us. Peace and thanks. Rob P.

I've skimmed a few of your videos in the last hour, and you do a fantastic job in all of them. I also agree that you do sound a lot like (60's-era) Gord. I also spend countless hours playing his songs for my own entertainment, and your playing style adds more substance than mine; I'm inspired to emulate the detail you bring to your renditions! Keep doing what you're doing!
