The vawt (vertical axis wind turbine) is a safer alternative to the horizontal type in that they can not spin any faster than the available wind speed.
It never stops, even a 1 mph wind!!!!

    Simple 6'x6"x3' wooden pallet shelving bolted to the interior sides of van so i have a place to secure canned foods and trade tools...ima blacksmith AND I deserve to be in an asylum. Simple design consists of a fire box heating a pressure cooker type tube with a valve to let water into a filter to make water clean and a valve to let steam into the turbines turnng a 14.4V drill hooked up to the truck batteries. I can watch TV for 36 hours before dead batterys! HA

  • I've been designing a small steam turbine generator to recharge deep charge truck batteries in my "survival van" as some call it. I just call the thing a TANK.

    1987 Dodge van with extended rear (8'x4'x3') (Length-Width-Height, Not sure if the metric take on measurements are the same but figure bout 2.75mx1.3mx1m)

    So far I've designed a cheap air purifier for somwhere around $50 (chesnut shell charcoal with soda lime-same hit used in WWI gas masks and can filter most common war gases)--readnext
