Unfiire Control System UCS

The Unifire Control System (or UCS), manufactured by Unifire AB of Sweden (unifire.com), is an electronic control station for networking remote-controlled water cannons (also called water "monitors"), lights, valves, cameras and virtual any other peripheral devices, to provide a simple interface from a single (or multiple) location.

The system is extremely versatile. Each button, or any combination of buttons, can trigger a whole series of events. These events (or logic) is custom programmed by Unifire for its customers. For example, by pressing button 1, the system might perform the following tasks sequentially: i) move water cannon number one to start position, ii) turn on the light at water cannon one, iii) turn on the camera at cannon 1, iv) open valve to cannon one. Then, to move to cannon two, the system might, for example, i) turn off valve to cannon one, ii) move cannon one to park position, iii) turn off light at cannon one, iv) turn off camera at cannon one, v) turn on light at cannon two, vi) turn on camera at cannon two, vii) move cannon two to start position, viii) open valve to cannon two.

The UCS can also program each and every Unifire "Force" water cannon on the network with its own, unique pre-recorded spray pattern. By pressing a single "play" button, the UCS will send any (or all, or any combination) of the cannons into its automatic spray mode.

This system is used to control the Unifire Anti-Pirate Water Cannon System (see www.piratesafe.com) from the bridge of a ship. It is also used to control Unifire cannons on fire trucks, together with valves, lights and other peripherals, etc., as well as on riot control vehicles to control the cannons and pulsing valves and other valves, lights, etc. The system has also been deployed in fixed installations, such as incineration plants for automatic fire protection, combined with infrared cameras.
