A demonstration of the Project Cyclops RPV - UAV system. This system works by transmitting live video from the aircraft using wireless video, which is received down to a fully functional cockpit console to view and control the aircraft, true RPV - UAV flying at it's very best!

This video was taken in the very early 1990's. This was flown at a public sanctioned event.

  • @lordlozz1 If you have a Ham Radio license you will be ok for transmitting for extended distances(miles). This was my dad's project, and he is not around anymore, so I'm just going on what he told me. But the video transmission distance exceeded the control distance... Everyone keeps asking me about legality, but if you fly at a local public sanctioned flying field, it should not be a problem. If you fly one around your neighbor hood, then yes, you could get into trouble...

  • @vanepico Electric motor won't even get it rolling. It had a pretty large gas engine with a 5 blade prop and it was still slow.

  • @s14duma Thanks for the comment! Yes, now you can almost fit it all into your pocket!

  • @projectcyclopsrpv The original fpv Gansta nice too see the technology has gone a long way. now all that fits in ur back pack xD

  • @migser85 Thank you for the nice comment. He passed well before he was supposed to.

  • damn congrats my friend your dad was a genius that was too good for the time

  • great vid.. well done...

  • nice

  • @projectcyclopsrpv Only difference I suppose is a 250watt electric motor wont lift this setup!!!

  • @vanepico Actually the picture quality is better, when I encoded the video from VHS it's lost some quality. The camera was a big bulky CCD camera, like the ones you see for surveillance outside a business back in the early 90's.
