  • This introduction is genius. Right from the start, it *shows you* how confined human history has been, how Earth is just a pebble in a vast ocean, and how small and petty our disagreements are on a cosmic scale. And then it shows you what human life could be like if we realised that and worked together instead of tearing at each other's throats. They really need to make another series with the same ethos.

  • I just finished watching the first season of star trek tng. I got to say that its one of the best shows ever made. I totally agree with @jimbopumbapigsticks. Maybe if we would worked together our technology could be more advanced, the star trek world could be the real world. Ever since i watched the first episode of Star trek tng, i have become obsessed with the series. My goal is to become a Ultra Star trek Fan.

  • I like TNG best.

  • The super-low bass with the main melody makes me get chills, every. single. time... What a perfect "sequel" to the original show, god damnit!

  • We Need More New Star Trek Movies And New Baywatch Movies To Please Come On Hollywood California U.S.A. And This Also Means You VIACOM Or CBS :).

  • Patrick's voice is just perfect! Depth, strength and passion. Love it

  • I like the intro for the most part, but I hate the crappy visual error in the intro when the camera pans away from the Earth and the moon and the moon suddenly jars far away from the Earth to the right as the camera turns away - you can see this error by watching 0:07 to 0:11.

  • @MisterAdamWayne True, our disagreements are very significant to us, but when viewed on a cosmic scale they're infinitesimal. And once you have an appreciation of just how small we are in the order of things, I think that breeds humility. I can't remember which astronaut said it, but one of them described how they wished every politician could stand on the moon and gaze at the earth for 5 minutes, so they could see how small and fragile it is, and how it's the only place we've got.

  • @Mrunit64 Yeah, you're right. It really is one of the best ever. Like @jimbopumbapigsticks said, the intro really establishes the perfect mindset/ethos. Some of the stories are true classics, not unlike the first series and movies, etc.

  • @jimbopumbapigsticks I totally get what you're saying and want what you want, but think about it: it is precisely because our disagreements are emphatically not small and petty that we cannot come together to bring about the future people like us dream of. The difference between those who would choose life instead of death is no small thing. Neither is justice petty. In this sense, our moral dimension is more vast than the universe, yet there can be no true progress unless we master ourselves.

  • @recrof you just want to bang holodeck hotties with riker and barclay

  • I want to skip this pathetic age and be part of the federation. Right. Now.
