Puerto Viejo, one of the best places in Costa RIca is in danger. A marina is going to be built. Bye the Surf, the tranquility, the local culture, the natural enchantement. The "New World" marina project will begin soon, let's help the community by signing the petition "Lets save Puerto Viejo" ("Salvemos Puerto Viejo") that you will find at this link :

  • ....you don' t know shit.... a marina would be helpfull to the economy...... peolple could work instead of robbing tourists houses and selling drugs.

    believe me......i live here....!

  • You live here?

I read Brooklyn, New York, USA on your YouTube sheet.

Let local people decide what they want for their future.

    Saludos

  • @alixrider

You can come, there is nothing yet.

  • The "Attraction" to Puerto Viejo is its "Undeveloped Natural Beauty". That is "Why" people have been spending dollars flocking to it over the years. Trust me, I live in Florida-where there is NO MORE NATURAL BEAUTY LEFT! There is no attraction to come here like there was in the 1950s. Now all we have is marinas, and condos, (which are not selling)! Please do not change your beautiful city. It is rare, irreplaceable, and priceless, I LOVE IT just the way it is.

  • Let's OCCUPY. Smokeout, When I can start there....give me a ring..

  • @ARABICHOMIE is usally flat because is summer time, having lack of swell. For that time of the year the best choice for surf good gnarly and manly waves is the caribbean side.

  • @alixrider you don't know shit, a marina would be devastating for the place, only helping to kill the scenic beauty, the fucking boats polluting the water with oil, killing the natural reef and also increasing the drug selling, because the fuckers with money to buy yachts and having a place at the "marina" are the cocaine and prostitute addicts. Go fuck yourself and stay in your concrete jungle.

  • What it ultimately comes down to is what the Bri-Bri's decide. They are the indigenous. And BTW, I was a drug doing prostitute. RESPECT. jah bless.

  • a marina aint gonna change shit, not a solution,is just gonna make worst ina long term, watch it happening!is gonna destroy the ecosystem waves and the people more than you think, economy sucks and politicians too, anyways the rich is just getting richer, and the poor is in suffering under their comand!there is many ways to get ahead!you can make it puerto viejo

  • so, what happened. did the marina builded some? im about to visit that place, and i would not like to see that happened with this beauty

  • @jeffj5151 I was just there last month. The best thing about Costa Rica beaches in this area is that they are undeveloped and remain as they were hundreds of years ago. No one wants to travel that far to see a bunch of development. We can see that in Florida!

Overdevelopment will kill tourism to Costa Rica.

So how did this turn out? I didn't see anything like a developed marina while I was there.

  • @elislado

I live here too and believe it would be helpful. no one goes to playa negra much anyway. there would still be miles of pristine untouched coastline and local flavor

  • Acabo de volver de Puerto Viejo y aun no se ha empezado la marina... y estoy completamente de acuerdo. NO AL PUERTO DEPORTIVO, NO A LA MARINA.

Puerto Viejo perderia todo su encanto....
