Who knows maybe they were insane to begin with, we've heard stories that TNG was a crazy place to work. Patrick Stewart himself said on a TNG DVD Special feature that TNG was one of the nicest shows to guest on because they had a great time.

Wow this really looks like it was a lot of fun to be at!! So cool when the actors take the time to give back to the fans. I really think this is great. I really gotta get to a con one day. Especially if the TNG cast is going to be there.
