Hamed's true downfall was his ego which became too huge, his belief that he didn't need to train hard, his lack of proper defence, and leaving Ingles his trainer which brings a huge psychological void to any fighter. His story is interesting, because he COULD have gone down as one of the greats. The Barrera fight was what Hamed needed as a wake up call. But instead of continuing like a champ, his legacy was solidified by that loss when he was outboxed fair and square by a true opponent.
