So...maybe it's a good time to stop being Capcom's bitch?

The stuff all the players without the mind of sheep already knew, but the rest of the community refused to acknowledge. We all know SFxT, MvC3, etc are bad tournaments games, full of flaws we shouldn't have deal with on a fundamental level, and the company refuses to fix, even with the ease of DLC updates. Yet, this country will bow anyway, and SFxT will show at majors and tourneys because people are just that fucking stupid.

@Ergeniz BOICOTT CRAPCOM GAEMS 4EVVVVVVVAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

@novriltataki If you honestly think that any fighting game is as deep as DotA you've got a lot of misconceptions and pride clouding your view.

@UnknownEnemy More like 3-5 people I know locally in my case. Let people play terrible games, I guess.

@elementpollo I've already stated numerous times that dlc gems suck, but like I also said, at least wait until more information comes on them. DLC gems could very well end up as trash, and overall, gems may be able to balance the game better.

@SOLIDOLDSNAKE1 you don't have to buy arcanas

@novriltataki I unfortunately never bought AH3 (due to lack of money), but from what I've heard, aren't gems somewhat similar to the Arcana system? Gems are looking to be an evolution of the already custimazation we've had in some fighters. CvS2 and it's groove system helped balance the game (not saying it was perfectly balanced because it wasn't), and going off of a friend whom I trust in FGs, Arcanas helped balance AH3 as well. Who's to say gems won't do the same?
DLC gems still suck though.

@novriltataki I agree with you that dlc gems are a stupid idea. But we still know very little about them. In fact, IIRC in a recent interview, Capcom said that the gems all would have the same boosts, just different methods of activating. For all we know, DLC gems could have ridiculous activation methods like "land 50 jump attacks". Outside of dlc gems, if executed properly, the gems could really work well. Characters with really bad matchups could adjust the gems to help them with it. (con)
Ok, having calmed down from yesterday, I gotta ask you Novril. What do you really think of gems? Because the more I think about them, the more I understand that they can be a good idea if executed properly.

@SOLIDOLDSNAKE1
since day one the problems only were: 1.preorder/pay2win/unlock 2.tournament time 3.a shallow solution instead of just making the game and characters interesting at high level by themselves.
A quote I liked about this subject: "Customization is more needed in shallower games. I think fighting games are deep enough that it's better just to have some well polished stuff instead of having a million different ryu variations, most of them unplayable."

@novriltataki I'm gonna play devils advocate for a minute here, novril, what did you think of CvS2 with the whole groove/ratio thing?
mrmuffinwaffle 3 months ago
@mrmuffinwaffle Grooves and ratio could sure use some balancing but they really were the heart of the game- Since the game is after all "Capcom vs SNK 2" they let you choose between systems of various Capcom and SNK games. (also SF/SS=one char games. KOF=team of 3)
"How would Cammy play if she were in a Samsho game?" "How would Kyo play in a SFA?" That's the whole point of CVS2.
But the gems just feel like a tacked on marketing idea for the mainstream crowd.
