This trap won't stand up to Racoons. My first Racoon destoryed the trip plate. After some time bending it back into shape, the second Racoon tore the door off the trap and left. As well, the mesh is very wide in certain areas so a Racoon can swipe you with its claws. Get your tetanus shots up to date if you desire to buy this trap for Racoons. Stay 6 inches away from the side to prevent getting swiped.
