It literally is a "Johnny A": he is one of only 3 people in the world to have a line of Gibson Guitars named after him (the other 2 are Les Paul and Chet Atkins).

I was disappointed when I met him shortly after the first CD. Saw him up at NbyNW in Philly. Mentioned that I had hoped he would do "Yes It Is" by the Beatles. Love his version and thought it was a good choice. He acted like it was some disappointment on his part that I should even bring it up. Haven't bothered to see him since. I've met better guitarists with half the attitude.

went to see Peter Frampton not knowing the opening act...well it was Johnny A, and never before in my life had i been so blown away hearing an artist for the first time ! He was there at the merch tent after the show and we talked a good while about gear before i bought his latest "Get Inside" cd. I was touched by his humbleness and expression of gratitude for my purchase. Johnny is the real deal

well, i met him back in 2006, after a gig in Manchester, England

i was particularly drunk and probably came across as very obnoxious and, well, drunkenly, as you can imagine

he took the time to have a conversation with me and even gave me a signed CD of his, all because i was all like "OIY, JOHNNY, HOWS ABOUT ONE OF THOSE CDS?!"

so, he most likely came away from that thinking it was ME who was the dickhead, but he was very approachable and personable with me
