  • Deep Economy by Bill McKibben.....fantastic read

  • James Hanson is a junk scientist. Anyone who is so arrogant as to be absolutely certain about "global warming" is a poor scientist. There are many distinguished scientists who completely disagree with or at least are very skeptical about "global warming" or what is now known as climate change. Here is a fact. The global temperature has been flat for about 10 years and 2007 the temperature was DOWN. So far it looks like 2008 be again be down in temperature. How about that!

  • Mr. McKibben is not a scientist, but he works with a team of the best scientists from around the world, ones such as our own James Hanson from NASA. We can get electricity from solar, wind, hydro. We can drive electric cars, or, better yet, ride a bicycle. Yes, it is going to be hard to give up the way we live, but the alternative is so awful that a little hardship seems tiny. The scientists know the science, but they need people like him to go around and rally the people-try to save the world.

  • The people who have been in charge of the decision making in this country have looked the other way for too long. The results are showing up and it's disasterous for our future, the futures of our children.

Sometimes those who speak up about controversial subjects aren't necessarily the most qualified but they are often the most courageous.

  • McKibben is a total crackpot. He does not have a scientific or technical background. He is a total hypocrite. If people hate us so much then why is the line to get in so long and growing? McKibben offers no solutions to our energy demands. He wants to stop building coal fired power plants and shut down the existing coal fired power plants that generate over 50% of our electricity. Of course he doesn't say where we would get the electricity we need. McKibben if a fool, a damm fool.
