Maranda High School in Nyanza province might have been little known but no any more. This provincial school is now basking in glory after it produced the 3rd best student Nationally apart from emerging the fourth best school country wide in the KCSE results.

Ati little known Maranda. This reporter is facilitating the very elitism that continues to alienate a large portion of our society. We from Nyanza know and respect Maranda. I hope that decentralization will change all this favoritism of the so called "National" schools most of them located in a specific region of the country.

Good news from alma mater! Maranda has always excelled as far as I can remember. When I attended Maranda High several years back the school emphasized on discipline and hard work. My own schoolmates have excelled in various fields. The school was not well endowed in resources. During my day what was a big problem -- the school library was wanting etc but the spirit lived on. I also recall the days Jaramogi used to visit and give us advice on the importance of education. I am proud of Maranda.
