This is the first run of my newly acquired vintage stationary engine. I'm pleased to say it started first attempt, not bad for a 67 year old machine!

  • Hi, to a company of agricultural engineers called E Achurch & Sons, Horncastle, Lincolnshire.

  • 70 year old you saying it is 1938

    The first pb made was in 1936 with a villiers magneto

    your engine was first made after 1940 due to has a lucas rs1 magneto

  • Thanks for the Info, I have just discovered that this machine was sold by the factory on 20th March 1941, so your spot on ..... I have a lot to learn. Is there a book or history of these engines available?

  • I belive there is a manual you can order from Ray Hooley

  • my dad has one with a villies mag on but he runs it on coil cause the coil in the villiers

    mag dont work i got engines too

  • Cool. dont you just love that sound as they fire again after 30 or more years sat idle !
