Fu style was created by Fu Zhen Song when he studied with Yang Cheng Fu. It is a combination of Pa-Kua and Yang style Tai Chi. Performed by Dr. Johnny Jang.

  • Let's see, there's no Chen style involved. It's a form created by Fu Zhongsun after he retired (it's a combo of Pa Kua & Yang style TCC).

36 movements: each 'movement' can contain up to 5 moves or more. It's all in how you count, really.

I don't do Ving Tsun (am familiar w/it). In what way is it similar?

  • Lot of corrections need to be made.

  • Ahem - say what?!?

First off, it's Fu style, not Yang. 2nd off, are you going thru the phase 'critique everything'? 3rd off, the 36 move form is a mod of the 108, & specifically developed to be less than 4 minutes long.

    What 'corrections' would you suggest?

  • I learned Fu style Tai-Chi from Master Liang Quing-Ya (who had Fu as a house guest in his home while Liang was ages 12-22) and he asserted my observation that Fu style Tai-Chi was Yang style on the outside, and Chen style on the inside. Fu was originally a Chen style player. I took private lessons for six years. Liang was proficient in many styles of Pa-Kua, but naturally preferred Fu style.

  • if he's doing like Chen's, then everybody is happy~~~Regret there is no sign that he can maintain the core DanTian~~~

    What a pity~~

In counting 6 hop, he is NO HOP

  • yes,...Tai-Hao! and, there are simular movements to other kung-fu like wing-chun. The continuous coiling bong-sao/tan-sao like techniques & the inside-block elbow/raise-knee is just like wah-gek/pak-sao in the 108-Mook Jong form. Just because Fu-style is larger frame movement, you can still the same movements as other kung fu. Plus, they count the postures, not the repeats or the transitions,..so you can have a 36 posture form with 108 movements easily. Coach Lee

  • smooth as silk excellent flow and body controll.

  • Yeah, one of those armchair Grandmasters. Hehe. He can critique...
