Dr. Richard Horton, Editor-in-Chief of The Lancet was Chair of a seminar held at the 63rd World Health Assembly where he presented a new series on Tuberculosis, and announced that The Lancet will establish a TB Observatory to monitor progress in the fight against the pandemic. Here, Dr Horton is responding to a question from Case Gordon of the IMAXI Cooperative, regarding the Observatory's role in monitoring, and accountability of the effort to stop TB. Further discussions after the seminar included the invitation from Dr. Horton for Case to actively participate in the new Observatory - perhaps a step towards the accountability and transparency that people living with the diseases seek from public health institutions.
