  • i like don's voice. he seems like a very calm and reserved guy. i wasn't expecting it, considering how explosive his playing can be.

  • Part 2?

  • Some of the people don't realize how great an impact Albert had on jazz.

Really grateful for all, all of the Ayler material made available on here.

and of course, the everlasting bad joke:

"Would you like an aspirin with your Ayler?

  • thank you for posting this...look forward to hearing the rest when you canpost it...don was not only a great artist and human, but a deep teacher for those who could hear and feel his spirit

  • not online--only on the 9 disc box set of Ayler's music

  • Is there a part two ?

  • I heard that also his mom and his brother (don ayler) were pressuring albert to let don play with albert. Don played trumpet on half of live in greenwhich village, I know, but Albert didn't want his brother as an instrumentalist. Anyway, i heard these and other pressures built and finallly he was on a boat near Ellis Island and he jumped into the water. That's the story I heard. Can't verify it for sure though.

  • "There's a few people that people that play for the love of God and as the reflection from God, and Albert Ayler was one of those people." Amen.
