  • @Smokeystyle "but you'd never hear an indian being refered to as asian" ever been to england?

  • You nailed the point. I hate when people say the term asian or like Chinese like Japanese, when none of these nations resemble to each other in several aspects. Those mostly don't have a good educational background and way more lagged behind.

Japanese is Japanese! Korean is Korean! Chinese is Chinese! Indian is Indian! ect...

  • @Paganbreeze well said, it all stems from laziness and ignorance about learning the various cultures and ethnicities.... its just like referring the british to the icelandic for example, both different languages but both "white-skinned"

  • uughh i am sick of people saying "ASIAN ASIAN ASIAN" ALL OVER YOUTUBE.

    THANK YOU SOO MUCH!

its almost like theyre obsessed with it....

    keep up the great videos!!

  • @thrash77581 Last time i check korea and japan were still in asia, but i guess the meltdowns could have moved them to aussie?

  • Thank you so much for bringing this up!

It REALLY annoys me when people use the term Asian incorrectly.

  • There should be West and East Asia continents.

  • please write Palestine insted of isreal

  • I think referring to people as Asian is an American (and possibly other regions) way of stereotyping for people from the eastern countries that most people know to exist overseas. By that, I mean China, the Koreas, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, etc. When we say Asian, it generally doesn't apply to countries like Azerbaijan (or any country west or north of China, for that matter), Russia, etc. It is a really bad generalization, now that you mention it. I, too, am guilty of using this term as well.

  • i find, a sad thing really, people try to seperate themselves as much as possible saying im this or that race, nationality whatever- asian, english, american etc. and most importantly, why do people act like they are proud of it? just because they were born on a random piece of land marked out by some random people long ago._ if we r proud of anythin, it should be the fact that WE ARE ALL HUMAN more than anythin. lets forget all this nationalistic thinking and move forward!! just my opinion lol

  • I'll be willing to bet that over 90% of the people using the word "Asian " in their descriptions are from the United States.

You make a very valid point. When describing oneself, why not say for example I'm an American with Japanese heritage. If it has bearing on the story you're telling.
