  • Whats wrong with the audio on this video?

  • @ohforfsakeletmein he is you could say the santa claus of atheism , hehe

  • @jmm1233 Randi does look a lot like Darwin with that beard :D

  • It is sad to see Randi avoid Dawkins' point that Randi's million dollar challenge is inherently flawed in its logic by being ignorant of the possibilities within the advancement of science. Im guessing its more cause of his ego than because he does not understand Dawkins' point. I say this because he then begins to ramble about his brilliance in hopes of impressing the audience and thus getting their minds off of the point Dawkins brings up. I wish Randi would have just conceded his mistake.

  • dawkins looks more like a bashful schoolboy meeting his idol randi , awwwwwww so adoreable

  • Was this video recorded 18069 years into the future?

  • @quasicesium Right you are. I actually found this video because i was watching every JR video on youtube while "Working".

I love JR, and while I am a fan of Dawkins also, IMO he's not nearly as awesome as JR.

  • @pyropope Yep, we're all entitled to our opinion. In my defense, it's just that when smart people talk, it's either for a good point or just bantering. In the clip, RD says "I'd be worried if I were you (JR)" & "You shouldn't have to pay for that", no offense to D but, if he's for real about it, I think he doesn't think too big of JR. In reality, JR should have the sense to tell a good scientific theory from a bogus claim, that's why NOBODY has ever passed the preliminary test of the challenge.

  • @quasicesium I agree entirely. I think JR is HOPING for the day it happen. As he said, it would be an amazing thing for science.

I just disagreed with the statement that Dawkins was being facetious. I don't actually think Dawkins was commenting on him losing money... just trying to ask for his opinion about possible advancements in Science... though I suppose its a pointless argument as neither of us know his real intentions of the question.

  • @pyropope I'm aware of D's POV, but it won't likely happen to the grief of JR. Science is a gradual process, those who know it will have a great chance to adapt, JR has plenty of time to adjust testing conditions, even protocol. As for the special cases, I think JR will be more than happy to give the prize if he's proven wrong. A find by this challenge would be precious, they've been waiting for it since 1964. it's not about the money, but rather an exciting intellectual pursuit.
