It is true that the lights can make the dust appear to be worse depending on conditions, wind direction and strength etc.
This cement ship is being unloaded by a type of auger type machine called a Sywertel(sp?) and you can hear the machine change in pitch as it slows down and speeds up. At night it runs at full speed regardless of dust conditions and where it blows. During the day the machine is run slower as many more people can observe the pollution as it occurs.
hmm.. dont you think there just as much dust during day & night time?
in the night part. it just shows up better because of the lights :)
But yeah. if things went like that in Amsterdam, You'd get a nice fine from the harbor patrol
*Besides, we use closed clamshell buckets (35cubic meters) here, also avoids allot of coal dust*
