This is a single cylinder engine. Most fishermen say that there is no problem with this engine sound. I think so, too.

this isn't a YS series as they have a horizontal cylinder head. I've got a YSM8G in my yacht.

Seriously though, i've got a yse8 i rebuilt and it sounds exactly like this.

Once you get them starting reliably, they go and go and go. mine uses 800 mls of deisel an hour

@dustinklngs diesel engines knock because the flame front of the explosion moves much faster in the cylinder than gasoline does.
