seen on paper it is eminently playable, not much harder than the studies in Book II of Simandl.
Of course I would ditch the cadenza or make it extremely short: I regard cadenzas as usually being disfiguring carbuncles on a concertante work unless (and sometime even when) the composer writes them.
I could play it if i could be bothered.
but that is the question . . . . . .

@colincbass414 you have to be kidding me. streicher just seems to lack a sense of inter-phrase phrasing. also, this whole piece is almost the same dynamic the whole way through.
there really isn't much dynamic contrast in any streicher recording i've heard.

@FromDaPit It was written for a bass in solo tuning (one whole step up from standard) So when the bass plays in C, it comes out in D.

Wow- thanks for posting this. It is a great recource, and Streicher's interpretation is one of my favorites. So musical.
