@TheSantos155, i know the feeling... I skated in a very small town in the 80s. I was the only one for a long time and we didn't have parks or ramps or anything. We didn't have videos to learn the tricks. I just saw the pictures in the skateboarding magazines and it all seemed so mysterious. I tried to invent tricks or find my own style but I have to admit I was pretty lame. I recently started skating again but messed up my knee. I am hoping it heels okay so I can skate again one day.
*backyard. And I meant skaters, not 'sisters', iPad auto correct dammit! Although my sister and other girls would always hang out and pump back and forth on the ramp.
This was just like us back in '86. All backyar ramps were 8 ft high and 8 ft wide. No templates, just 2x4s to make the transition. We just did kick turns mostly. No Internet or tons of sisters to show you how to do tricks, just mags and we had to figure shit out on our own. Standards weren't high, kids have it easy these days! But it's all progression so I'm not hating one bit!
@macdaddyofthemac39 well said man, people don't know shit about what it was like back in the 80's and early 90's, when a kickflip was just a "olly Gonzales"... Nice vid... fun to watch...
