it is so hard for me to find a red that works for me. I have olive skin I usually wear foundation that is considered fair or ivory depending on the foundation. Can anyone suggest a red lipstick or type of reds that i should try?

My skin is the color of carmel candy. Could you suggest a red for me? I never know whether to go blue-red, or orange-red.

@Diamonddusted68 It's hard to say...probably an orange based red would work well on you. I would go on ebay and buy the 66 lip palette...mix and match the colors until you know what works best before you splurge on a red lipstick. :)

@MegaGoofygirl My mom has trouble finding colors that match her skin (like a tanish color), and she LOVES her Besame Red!! I have tan skin, but lighter than her, and I tried it on my hand and it is AWESOME!!! :)

I understand what you're saying about small cosmetics companies. Lately one of my major obsessions is shopping small independent upstart cosmetic companies. I'm so disinterested in the products coming from the major cosmetic dinosaurs. I like the fact that these smaller companies are making a higher quality product, better pigments, and are actively involved in the make-up scene.
