The SS Hispania was a Swedish steamship built in 1912. It sank in the Sound of Mull in 1954 after running aground on a reef during a heavy storm. All but the Captain survived. The crew lowered into life boats and spent an hour trying to persuade Captain Dahn to abandon the vessel. But he stayed and silently saluted his crew as the Hispania sank below the waves.
