Ironically one of the LEAST dickish gods in the whole pantheon.

I love how SatanHades (thanks, NC!) pops out of the ground, laughing maniacally with lightening and thunder in the background, and Persephone just sits there and stares at him. No screaming, no jumping back in fright, and when he walks up to her, she rises to meet him.

Also, his little demon minions are drawn adorably.

Wonders which Hades would win. Hades from this short, or the Disney Hercules.

This is beautiful! This drawing of Persephone was the inspiration for Snow White. They also modeled Snow White after Betty Boop.

I wonder if the 'Hades' song was an inspiration in 'The Forbidden Zone'?

The Romans were not as afraid of death as the Greeks, in fact Roman culture in general had a more postive and optimistic view of existance than its precursor's. Another interesting change was this: Aries, god of war, was a cowardly psychopath in Greece, but his Roman counterpart, Mars, was an honorable jerk with a heart of gold.

I wonder why the Romans cleaned him up like that.

It was his Roman counterpart Pluto that was the nice one actually, Hades was still nicer than his siblings, but still tended to overreact when mortals did something that bothered him. Also, Hades' affection towards Persephone was more like lust, unlike Pluto who sincerely loved her.
