This is the opening to the tv show Brimstone (1998-1999). Brimstone can be seen on the tv channel Chiller. The show starred Peter Horton & John Glover. PLOT: Ezekial Stone, a former cop, killed his wife's rapist and was later killed himself. He is sent to Hell for his crime. However, 113 evil souls have escaped, and the Devil sends him back to Earth to recover them. Both Stone and the escaped souls can only be harmed or killed by each other, and they can be sent back to Hell if their eyes (the "windows to the soul") are destroyed. If Stone can recover all 113, then he'll be given a second chance at life...or so the Devil says.

  • I think I only saw one episode of this show and then it was gone. I remembered it being on the creepy side. I found it hard to root for Ezekial because of his Devil connection. The actor that played the devil was really, really good. It's a shame this show didn't continue. I thought it was very interestingly creepy.

  • The opening always reminds me of Max Payne.

  • always wondered wat happend to this show

still good to see the intro after all these years XD

  • I managed to download the whole series couple of years ago, was a good series shame about the guy with the axe cancelling it

  • John Glover looks a lot better without a beard

  • I remember watching this show when it originally aired. I always thought it was pretty good. If I remember correctly, it aired on Fridays which might have been one reason that it didn't survive. One of many shows cut down before their prime.

  • @nbelsky That's true, the show does lean a little that way but kinda pusses out and returns to the default, 'part of god's plan' thing.

My ex is a devout Catholic, and she liked it. More because it showed all the flaws in Catholic dogma then because it was based on them.

For example, the old bureaucrat who Stone felt should have been redeemed, but rules were rules.

  • @nbelsky I'll admit, I hate the whole catholic dogma thing, but if you can put that aside, it's a great show.

  • @joseluissatan Try let me watch this dot com. They've got all 13 eps up on various stream sites.
