  • You can use a HD PVR those are the best HD capture card. If you want to talk when your playing then you need a sound mixer.

Also if you use a camcorder and your frame rate is 30 frames when your shutter should be 60th of a second.

Some people recorder at 60 frames but youtube does not support 60 frames.

Also do not record at 24 frames. You will miss 6 frames. I do not think it would look good but I never tested it my self.

  • @mp4podcastDOTcom Good points, but try to remember that most NTSC televisions produce video at 60 interlaced fields per second (29.97 frames per second). The GL1 as well as smaller consumer miniDV cameras DVRs and VCRs captures video at 29.97 frames per second(60 interlaced fields) The shutter and 24P only comes into play if your using the camcorder to film instead of a VCR.

  • @controllerthrowers I was wondering about the 24p. So if you are filming in 24p that good that it will still look good. I was iffy about dropping six frames.

    Thanks man!

  • @mp4podcastDOTcom It depends on the camera. I prefer the Pannasonic DVX100B for 24p. AVGN shoot with an older model(DVX100) which in my experience is not great with low-light, but it still looks really nice. Happy Consol Gamer shoot in 24p as well but in HD(Canon). The only thing to be wary of is shooting conventions or races where you'll need to go back to 29.93 because the 24p will not keep up with fast moving things.

  • Hey go to Radio Shack and get some composite splitter so you can capture and play on your Big TV set.

Or go to monoprice website they have really good cables cheap.

  • I have a canon zr950 and it has the AV input. according to the instructions i can do this! I haven't been doing reviews because yes, recording the TV is ghetto. I'll figure this out
