Uthman Badar, Australian spokesman for the international Islamist group Hizb Ut-Tahrir, speaks to Tracy Grimshaw about the group's anti democracy views. The group has called on all Muslims in Australia to join in the fight for a transnational Islamic state. British group leader Burhan Hanif said that democracy is forbidden for Muslims, who should live purely under Islamic law and a female delegate at the groups recent conference in Australia urged all Muslim women to maintain the Islamic struggle by insisting on their right to wear the burqa/niqab.

A Current Affair is the most biased and retarded show on television, the bearded fellow does have some truths to his statement, well, one, at least, that being that the west has created enemies in the middle east due to supporting despots in places such as Saudi Arabia and Egypt (which has now had a revolution). It's just realpolitik.

That being said, friendship shouldn't exist with religious extremists who hate western society, civil liberties and wish to bring their problems to the west.

Regardless of your view of the programme's reputation, as "the most biased and retarded show....." that statement is completely irrelevant to this particular interview. Tracy Grimshaw gave Badir every opportunity to air his opinion and plenty of time. Many other hardline journos would have put him through the mill and hung him out to dry.

In fact, I agree entirely with you and of course I confess I knew exactly what your position was from the beginning. You're absolutely right regarding the hypocrisy of Uthman. However, it's better for the public to hear what he has to say, rather than get rid of him, because by exposing his extremist views in this way he is doing his own cause far more harm than good.
