Flyovers of ancient Mayan cities, interwoven with scenes of nature, set to one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard.

*In 1995, I spent much time driving throughout Mexico and Central America, visiting most of the Mayan cities shown in the film. I stood amidst the ruins and listened to this very song, along with many other fantastic tunes I had recorded in previous years from a weekly 2-hour radio show called 'Musical Starstreams'.

*Sources:

-Audio:
'Stratos' by Jonn Serrie, from the album 'And the Stars Go With You'

-Video:

Nature scenes are from the Internet Archive, mostly from the excellent C. E. Price contributions.

  • I used to listen and record Musical Starstreams as well. If I recall correctly, this is the title cut from John Serrie's "And the Stars Go with You."

  • You were right, it is 'Stratos', by Jonn Serrie, from that album. Thanks a million!

  • Eerie and beautiful, UN! A lovely thing to wake up to! Who did the music?

  • I agree, it is many things at once... Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed it! I do not know who made the music, it was recorded from radio in early 90s.

  • Astonishing visuals, perfect soundtrack. The end sequence reveals a very powerful message to an open mind and heart. Beautiful and inspiring work, UNoise!!

  • Thanks, man! The scenes combined with the music just seemed to fit so well, and you are right, the ending is very powerful...

  • @JeffBlondeau Still are on up here in Reno on 100.1 the X

  • I love this stuff - loathe smooth jazz. One of my friends referred to this type of music as textured.

  • Anybody know where Forrest and Musical Starstreams are now? I used to listen for hours, download as much as I could until Soma FM (and probably the RIAA, too) pulled the plug.

  • @signsandwonders Me too. I listened and recorded many song from the Musical Starstreams radio show back in the 90s when it played on 94.7 the Wave in Los Angeles from 12 midnight to 2am. I have two cassettes full of music from this radio show. I sure miss it on the radio. Listening online at their website isn't the same.

  • @tierren

  • All the smooth jazz stations are losing touch with variety by just sticking to what is safe ! We need more of this type of music on the radio, it may just put the world at ease ! LOL

  • I see you're not the only one that loved "Musical Starstreams." Music is not as calming anymore. Love this. Nice job.
