Check out the inventive staging and vocal musicianship as the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles thrills audiences with this Gilbert & Sullivan gender-bender. Then make a date to see the chorus LIVE at the Alex Theatre. Choreographed by Mark Chung.

  • OMG who things of all of these? Themes, choreographies, harmonies, humour... everything is wonderful in every video I've watched!!!!

  • @99sra Thanks very much. When 200 singers assemble in Hollywood, there are many collaborators! Give special credit to the dancer in the purple kimono. He choreographed this entire number, including the surprise with the fans at the end. Be sure to visit us if you come to LA. For tickets, see: gmcla.org

  • Jim, would it be OK to ask for IDs on the "three little maids"? I think the one in pink is the first tenor of the three, right?

  • @wkyken

No, first tenor TK Asano wears the turquoise kimono, second tenor Gary Hayashi in pink, and Mark Chung is the baritone in purple who also choreographed the number for chorus and maids. Thanks for asking!

  • @jimroman Yes, I've read about the choreographer in purple. What a nice job! He is also very pretty! Don't get me wrong, I'm a girl lol ;)

Bravo to everybody for the wonderful voices and performances and to every collaborator! I'll surely visit you if I ever come to LA (I live in Europe). Thanks for the answer ;)

  • I love it!!! Well done, it might set the standard for this aria. Just great fun! Wonderful choreography! Also, these are the most ravishing three little maids I have seen!.

  • I'm glad to find out I'm not the only one who sings this song down an octave X__x

  • Two points to make; A) drag is always a crowd pleaser when played for laughs (which was done quite well here), B) it's almost fitting that men are playing women—despite being a very Savoy Opera written by a couple of British guys, it's traditional for men to play as women in kabuki theatre (as well as traditional Shakespearean theatre).

  • hahahahaha soooo funnyy

  • And exactly what difference does it make what their orientation is if they create great music and have fun? These are very talented people.

  • Great job! I think Mark is the prettiest.

  • I wasn't able to be there and am SO GLAD (that's right, GLAD!) that I just found this vid. Gary, you are priceless !
