Dedicated to my longtime, good friends, Jeannie H. S. & Rhonda W. D.
♪ ♫ ♬ One of my all-time faves: John Denver's, LATE WINTER, EARLY SPRING (When Everybody Goes to Mexico), part of the "Season Suite" from the ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH album. Mike Taylor is the tune-writer and lead guitarist - I mistakenly thought it was Peter Huttlinger and made an annotation at the end of the clip with the correction.

  • This track is the reason I bought this LP way back when - it is a very beautiful and thought provoking piece.

  • @d0csevern This is my favorite track, too. I made the video because there were only a couple of others on YT, each very lovely, but the images in this clip lend to what my mind's eye sees when I listen to it. Have a nice Sunday afternoon!

  • great contribution; i guess the best instrumental version of John ever. I have the album on vinyl (says that John played on the 12 string guitar, Mike Taylor on normal guitar, Dick Kniss on bass, Gary Chester on perscussion and Frank Owens on piano. :)

  • @zjsNL Thank you! I have the vinyl somewhere but couldn't find it to reference. I listened to Late Winter Early Spring so often on the LP it developed skips! Which I still expect to hear, btw. :-D Thanks for the great info!

  • the tabs are available for this beautiful song (google it) along with a story about the only time it was played live and the guys (Mike Taylor) was suprised that so many people liked it. (he got a standing ovation) go figure. Can anyone imagine being this talented and not knowing it . WOW

  • @cryrocker ~ Pardon me that so much time has passed since your comment and I've not responded ~ Thank you! I will google the tabs and story. I still have an old, well-worn songbook from 1975, "An Evening with John Denver," but "Late Winter, Early Spring" isn't in it. It is amazing that Taylor was surprised at a standing ovation!

  • @Artisticer ayuh - there's one with Bambi in it which to my mind is a little to sweet for the piece - a bit derogatory for me. Like this video - captures some of what the piece is about.

  • @professormaxtrinity Thank you and I'm glad you liked it!

  • Beautiful images... can't even say what this did for my heart this morning. Thank you. Namaste.

  • For your first video it is very beautiful. I would love to see what you do next. Thanks
