Joint Performances of April Spring Friendship Art Festival Given
Pyongyang, April 17 (KCNA) -- Joint performances of the 26th April Spring Friendship Art Festival were given at the Pyongyang Grand Theatre, the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre, the Central Youth Hall and the Pyongyang Circus Theatre on April 16.

Appreciating the performances were leading officials of the Party and the state and a chairman of the friendly party, officials of Party and power organs, social organizations, ministries and national institutions and working people here and overseas compatriots delegations, overseas Koreans, diplomatic envoys of various countries here and foreign guests.

The performances were given by the State Academy Ensemble Named after Sveshnikov of Russia, the Cossack State Dance Company of Russia, the LD Studio of Russia, a Delta saxophone quartet of Britain, a group of famous artistes of Finland, a musical group of the Moldovan State Symphony Orchestra, a Vietnamese art troupe, a musical group "Annie Moses Band" of the U.S., an art troupe of the Mongolia-Korea Friendship Society, a musical group "Casting Crowns" of the U.S., a female trio of "Appasionante" of Italy, the Cancun musical troupe of Spain, a dancing troupe of the Ukrainian Kiev Dance Theatre, the Chinese art troupe (Shanghai Acrobatic Troupe), the Nikulin Moscow Circus of Russia, a Mongolian acrobat and his party, the Swedish Ludvika Circus, a Japanese magic group, a magicians group of the World Magic Federation, an art troupe of Koreans in Japan, an art troupe of Koreans in China, an art troupe of the International United Confederation of Koreans and an art troupe of Koreans in the U.S.

Artistes of different countries enthusiastically sang "Song of General Kim Jong Il", an immortal revolutionary paean, and "Dear General, Where Are You", an immortal classic masterpiece, and staged flawless ensembles and refined dances representing the emotion and customs of their people and colorful acrobatic numbers, significantly decorating the festival.

Korean artistes overseas presented solos "Cantata to Comrade Kim Jong Il" and "The Hearts Revering the General" and other numbers expressing the profound reverence for General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
