if i had a bus driver saying that to me i would say YA I LIKE TO SEE YOU TRY TO PUNCH ME IN THE FACE I WILL SUE YOUR ASS FOR EVERY PENNY YOU GOT AND YOU CALL YOURSELF A PROFESSIONAL BUS DRIVER I CONSIDER YOU AN ASSHOLE FOR YELLING AND CURSING AT ME AND TRYING TO THREATEN ME TO SHUT UP
im glad they fired him i will never tolerate a rude bus driver like that he has to show some respect no matter what mood he is in

Hmmmmm Funny that the young man only FINALLY used the "mental illness" excuse when he was in fear of pain. Convenient of the kid. Personally, I think the only mental problem he had was being stoned, ignorant, rude, or a combination. Can't say I blame the bus driver after reading the vid description above. Probably wasn't the first time that that bus driver had to deal with the kid either.

some OC drivers driving past stops without stopping for no apparent reason. It was snowing today, I waved for bus to stop but driver never stopped so I was late for class. I seen this happen a lot to other people as well. What's even more frustrating is customer service for OC transpo does NOTHING to help passengers. They make so much money off citizens and all they do on the phone is dilly-dally and not caring to solve the conflict. The bus system is faulty and need to be more responsible.

@200357846 And, in regards to what they're paid, it's reasonable I think when you include the number of incidences. Yeah, some Drivers are asking for it, but, when a bunch of kids are pissing off the entire Bus Load of people... Hell, I don't know what I'd do in that position. Again, freaking out isn't the answer. And, to be fair. If someone freaks out a lot, they shouldn't be dealing with the public.

@200357846 Dealing with the Public is never fun. But, let me put it this way. Last month in town, there was a Driver that was assaulted by 3 teens. He wanted to throw them off because they were drunk off their asses and harassing other riders. They jumped him, sucker punched him from behind, then one of them put on a set of Brass Knuckles and knocked him clean out, broke his nose and left him there. I mention this because you brought up the point of pay and wages.

Another possibility is that this rider MIGHT have been under the influence of a substance.

@gritzydgb8 We would have been fired in any other public service job. Why should this one be an exception?
-
@MrSupertwo While I agree that dealing with the public is a difficult job, I take that crap all the time in retail and I don't get paid what he does. So I cannot sympathize with him. I can relate but I don't sympathize. I could/would never speak to a customer that way.
I have aspergers syndrome as well, but the actions of the guy who was annoying the driver were uncalled for. It looks like he and his camera-wielding friend staged the whole thing as well. I hope the bus driver gets his job back.
