I know you were mocking me, and I didn't particularly appreciate it. I enjoy many different kinds of music for many different reasons. The reason I enjoy this song is because it is unique: it is a disco tune in dorian mode, one of a kind. Now you've learned something. You're welcome.

Actually, now that I think about it, in the chorus, the chord accompanying the line "C'est Chic" could be interpreted as C major (there's no bass). That would make it a retrogression from D major, C major, back to tonic, A minor. This retrogression occurs as a variation in the verse sometimes too ("All that pressure got you down").
Also, since A is clearly the tonic, that means this song is in A Dorian. That's wicked cool. How many disco tunes can you name in dorian?
