April 8, 2009, was Bloggers' Day at the Virginia State Capitol in Richmond, coinciding with the veto session of the General Assembly.
In this video segment, Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling calls the Senate to order; Rev. James L. Porter delivers an invocation; and the Lieutenant Governor calls the roll and accepts a motion to waive the reading of the journal.
Then, during the "morning hour" announcements, Senator Ken Cuccinelli (Fairfax) welcomes a "distinguished group of rabble rousers" to Bloggers' Day; Senator John Watkins (Powhatan) officially welcomes Reverend Porter; Senator Donald McEachin (Henrico) welcomes a 10-1/2-week-old constituent and her parents; and Senator Watkins rises again to welcome Colin and Colin Stolle of Virginia Beach.
