SHARONVILLE, Ohio (WKRC) -- The puppy held as evidence in an animal abuse case now has a new home.Trooper was adopted this weekend from a shelter by a Mason family whose two boys wanted a puppy for Christmas. Local 12 is told the 11 and 9-year-olds were surprised and happy when their parents brought Trooper home. You may recall he has been at the SPCA since August. That's when police officers arrested his owner for slamming the puppy to the ground. The only family he's known the past four months are the workers at the Sharonville animal shelter. Trooper's new family says he has spent the last two days sleeping on their laps and playing in the snow.
