National EAS Test - Boston MA, 2:00pm ET - CNN

[EAS TEST STARTS AT 1:10.] Recording of "historic" National EAS test as seen in the Boston MA, viewing area. Channel is 600 (CNN) on Verizon FiOS network. Interesting how it says the test is for the District of Columbia. Also sounds like they may have had an audio problem, though that silence might be where the President would break in with his or her special message.

The test says "District of Columbia" because that was the FIPS code assigned to the EAN. Since there is no FIPS code the the United States as a whole, they used DC. Also there was indeed an audio problem as at our station in Portland Maine, we heard a test script read, but the audio was almost unintelligible.

@projectXBOX Thanks for the reply. That makes sense. About 30 min after, my screen blanked out again for about 5 sec with the EAS screen. Did the same happen to you?

At 1:20 the word test appears 5 times at once... They must really want to get the point across it's a test.

So this is what the famed Verizon FIOS national EAS looks like. Very interesting!. Thanks for the upload!. Yeah the reason why it says it was located in DC was because thats where it originated from, and it branched out from there.

There was an audio problem on the Louisville radio station I listened to for the test.
