kdublee, i see your point to an extent, but the racquetball racquet has that tether, and I think you actually can use both hands like a tennis backhand i see people use. I think the reason that a person is not allowed to switch hands is because of that tether. I never checked , but maybe the rules explain the tether.Safety maybe? I hope you can find your answer. i don't have the answer, just a thought as to why it is the way it is. Im curious to see the answers you get here.

The tether, which is a required safety precaution, would make it impossible, sorry. You would have to remove the tether, which would endanger the other player.

@kdublee

I don't have a reason just a verification. In baseball a switchhitter may not switch hands in the same 3 - out batting period. In racquetball, you may not switch hands in the same rally.

You can, just you have to wear a tether on both hands =) Good luck with that and see how you play.

squash is in a smaller room and the ball does not bounce as "good" as a racquetball ball. you need more power for squash.
of course scoring is different as well.

@tylkopolak

You don't necessarily need to have "power" in order to succeed in squash, and neither do you need it for racquetball. It's all mechanics.

the games are similar but squash has more out of bounds areas. squash also uses smaller racquets, has a smaller court, and the ball isn't as bouncy. it kinda 'drops' when it hits the wall, as compared to racquetball, where it bounces off with much more force and speed.
