  • PEM stands for Proton Exchange Membrane. Basically a membrane that conduct protons (and isolates electrons).

  • Could methane gas be used from a waste treatment plant. to fuel a rem like yours to supply a community???

  • Yeah there could be possibilities for it, but the methane has to be converted into hydrogen gas first which is possible by use of a reformer.

A reformer is basically a machine that can convert methane of any other organic gas into hydrogen and carbondioxide and byproducts. So unfortuanately it will not eliminate carbondioxide footprint, but it is still a lot more efficient in generating power then when using the methane in a generator.

  • Furthermore the amount of methane gas is importent, when there is more power needed the amount of need for hydrogen gas increases.

Lets say for 10 kilowatt/hr (4 houses all using vacuumcleaners .example) you need a constant flow of 75lpm (liters per minute or 16,5 gallons per minute). But when upscaling to like 100 houses, you will need 1650 gallons per minute of gas. If the waste treatment plant has like 2500 gallons of methane per minute then it would work (conversion rate around 60-80%)

  • I hope you guys are still operating...Nice cell you have there..Just what the world needs..

  • Currently we are still operating it, at the moment we have given back 500 MW/h back to the factory and that amount only keeps on rising.
